Momos By Me
Momos is a chinese dish yet we all like it by its look and taste too. So I also fell in love with it and going to try it today with a veggie stuff.My kids also like it and we as a family became a fan of momos now.
So let's start preparing momos...
Maida - 1 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
water as required
Tomato - 2 nos
Kashmiri chilli - 3 nos
Red Chilli - 4 nos
Garlic - 8 nos
Carrot - 1 no
Onion - 1 no
Capsicum - 1 small
Cabbage - 1/4 cup finely chopped
pepper - 2 tbsp
vinegar - 2 tbsp
salt As required
Olive oil - For saute
In a bowl add maida,salt,oil and water as required to make it a soft dough.
Keep it aside for half an hour.
In a sauce pan add tomato,kashmiri chilli,red chilli and garlic and little water.Bring it to boil and keep it for cool.
Peel off the tomato skin and grind everything to a fina paste.
In a same sauce pan add little olive oil and chopped garlic.Mix the paste ,salt,sugar,1 tbsp vinegar and bring it to boil and add some tomato sauce which will enhance the flavour.We can skip adding the sauce also.
Tomato sauce is ready.
Now in a pan add little olive oil and saute all the vegetables and stir fry it .Add 1 tbsp vinegar and pepper and stir fry it.Once the veggies are lightly cooked(Don't over cook) switch off the stove and add salt.Mix it well(We should not add salt while stir fry as it will leave water)
Keep it to cool.Lets prepare a momo sheet to wrap it.
In a chappati maker take a small dough and roll it to poori shape and keep the fried veggies in the center and wrap it in a draping style to make it in a perfect momos.
Keep it in a steamer or a idly making pot apply oil on the surface of the plate and cook it for 10 to 15 mins.
Tasty Momos are ready to serve
