Delicious Millet Venpongal

Venpongal is a delicious south Indian breakfast prepared with rice and moong dal. It is very easy and comfort food for every age group.Here we are trying to prepare this with barnyard millet and moong dal.


Lets start preparing Millet Venpongal .....


INGREDIENTS FOR MILLET VENPONGAL

  • Barnyard Millet - 1 cup

  • Moong dal - 1/4 cup

  • cumin seeds - 1 tbsp

  • pepper - 1 tbsp

  • Ginger chopped - few

  • mustard - 1 tsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Curry Leaves - Few

  • Ghee for tempering


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. First we need to soak the millet and moong dal for 30 minutes.



2. In a pressure pan add soaked millet ,dal and cumin seeds .Add 4 glass of water and keep it for 4 whistle.



3. Once the pressure is released , in a tadka pan add ghee , cumin seeds , curry leaves , chopped ginger and pepper .Fry it and add to the cooked pongal.



4. Delicious venpongal is ready to serve.
