Aval Varattiyathu
Poha dish is a traditional one in the southern part of India.Mostly in the New year we used to make this and provide it to god as a name of prasadam.Today on the eve of Tamil new year I prepared this as prasadam for God.Hope you all like it.
Let's start preparing Aval Varattiyathu...
INGREDIENTS:
Aval/Poha - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/2 cu4
Cashew -few
bengal gram roasted - few
Black Sesame Seeds - few
Fresh Coconut pieces - few
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a mixi jar grind poha in a whisk option.Keep it aside.
In a frying pan add ghee and fry cashew,bengal gram roasted,black sesame seeds and coconut pieces.Keep it aside
In a separate pan add jaggery and 1/2 cup water and let it melt to a water consistency and filter it.
In a same frying pan add this melted jaggery and poha.Stir it so that poha absorb the jaggery and gets thicker.Add ghee and fried nuts and mix it.Mix everything well so the flavor gets into the poha.
Aval Varattiyathu is ready.
